We won – the Red Dot Award!

This price is defined as the biggest in the world you can win as a designer. For us, applying for it (yes, you need to apply for it!) and on a first attempt, to actually get up there and receive the award, feels a bit unreal to be honest. As I know that so many other knife brands have been around for more than 50 years that never won it. Or brands that have sales over 70 million a year that haven’t had the honor to win it with any of their knives. That has given us a self-esteem that our design and function is something that is truly unique. Also, a glimpse that we are on the right path as a knife company that are meant to stay and continue developing the kitchen knives even further.

When we had the honor to win the price some months ago we did travel to Singapore and received the award at the big gala event. It was truly amazing to visit the yearly exhibition which is presenting all the winners in their big museum in middle of the city. A place you could visit for inspiration from this year award winning greatest designs.

Some facts about our award-winning knife and the ideas behind it.
We wanted to create a blade and handle in a knife that will become one with the user.
Our pattern on our blade have a pattern that’s very similar to the look of the year rings inside of a olive wood tree. Since we use a very “living” olive wood with a lot of patterns in it. Therefore, the blade and handle will have a connection of the look of it.
And to make the user become one with it, we also made it slightly front heavy so the user would pinch higher up on the blade and hold it in both blade and handle. From the massive response from our end customers has proven we that we have succeeded in achieving it.

With that said, thanks to all of you that have been following us over the years, and I cannot thank you enough for sharing and recommending our knives!
